CC Pharma is a leading German importer of EU pharmaceuticals from other EU member states, reliably delivering friendly and bespoke services to pharmacies and pharmaceutical wholesalers. We exclusively distribute more affordable branded medicinal products from other EU member states. The quality of these products is checked and assured in transparent and third-party-certified multi-stage quality assurance processes prior to their distribution.
At CC Pharma, we firmly believe that a socially and economically responsible supply of medicinal products is essential for long-term viability. Given this, our stated corporate objective is to consistently expand our range of more affordable original brand-name medicinal products from other EU member states.

As an experienced and trustworthy re-importer and parallel importer, we are confident of being able to grow our market shares in these areas. To this end, we devote our efforts to building and strengthening our reputation among pharmacies and pharmaceutical wholesalers. Swift delivery of branded medicinal products to pharmacies and pharmaceutical wholesalers is our second key to growth, enabling us to expand our market shares in the future. To this end, we engage in consistently expanding our advisory services, growing our supplier network, and investing in systematic advancement of both our know-how and our outstanding logistics competence to cover further regions.

Every day, CC Pharma delivers affordable original branded products to pharmacies and pharmaceutical wholesalers. These deliveries underpin a socially and economically responsible supply of pharmaceutical products in Germany, an objective to which CC Pharma has been ethically committed for over 20 years.
CC Pharma is established in 1999 with the purpose of procuring medicinal products and pharmaceuticals at lower rates for the German market. The company is first located in Grevenbroich and later moves to Densborn. We establish a customer base that will remain the same throughout our history, comprising public pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, and specialized pharmacies as well as full-line pharmaceutical wholesalers.
CC Pharma rapidly evolves into one of the leading re-importers and parallel importers in Germany. With the inauguration of the new premises in Densborn in 2006, CC Pharma now occupies ultramodern headquarters that reflect the company’s performance standards. In these early days, the premises located in the heart of Germany’s Volcanic Eifel region offer space for 53 staff.
Continuing on its rapid growth trajectory, CC Pharma expands its product portfolio and recruits new employees. Around 260 employees now work at the Densborn location. 2008/09 sees extensions to the new location, adding further production and storage areas and an inhouse laboratory with cleanroom conditions. We continue to invest further in improving the safety and quality of our company and now occupy a 3,800 square meter facility.
In 2019, CC Pharma celebrates its 20th anniversary. (Click here for our picture gallery) A further milestone is the foundation stone ceremony, which adds another 2,600 square meters to our premises to bring the total area up to 6,400 square meters. The new building at our Densborn location offers space for further production, storage, and office areas. The groundbreaking ceremony takes place in May 2019.
From 2019, CC Pharma builds up its import business and adds medical cannabis as another focus, supported by its new partner Tilray (formerly Aphria). “This new constellation will strengthen CC Pharma’s position on the German market, positively impacting on the development of the pharmacy and wholesale pharmaceutical market for medical cannabis,” announces Dr. Manfred Ziegler, CEO CC Pharma. Tilray is one of the global leaders in medical cannabis production and research.
The new building is completed on schedule in June 2020, roughly one year after the groundbreaking ceremony. It has 2,600 sqm of floor space. Owing to the huge increase in staff numbers, 850 square meters of the building’s upper floor are turned into office space––significantly more than originally planned. Over 300 of the additional 1,750 square meters of production and storage area are dedicated to the production and storage of medical cannabis. “Our growth projection was forecast to deliver 30 additional jobs within the next three years. Far outperforming our own targets, we have now created 70 new jobs in just one year,” says Dr. Manfred Ziegler.

After 21 years at the helm, co-founder and CEO Dr. Thomas Weppelmann retires with effect from June 1, 2020. CC Pharma is happy to announce that he is succeeded by Klaus Becker, longstanding CFO of the company, who has strong ties with both the company and the region. The business administration graduate can draw on 16 years of professional experience in a variety of commercial management positions. He joined CC Pharma in October 2016 and has headed the Finances and Human Resources departments. With his appointment to the Board of Management, we look forward to continuing together along our growth path of recent years.
As one of the leading pharmaceutical importers, we strengthen our import business and put further focus on medical cannabis since 2018. We leverage our core expertise and years of experience in the import business to import high-quality, medical cannabis products and supply pharmacies and pharmaceutical wholesalers with these BtM products.
With Tilray, we have gained a shareholder that is one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the field of medical cannabis. Complementing this, we bring experience in the pharmacy market – especially in the areas of infrastructure, international logistics, distribution and regulatory requirements.
Together, we form an entity that does not yet exist in the market. With Tilray’s know-how, we will become specialists in the specifics of distribution in the field of medical cannabis therapy.
